ALTERNATIVE FUELS RENEWABLE ENERGIES COUNCIL

The alternative energy industry is opening  the doors to a new generation of business.  Escalating fuel prices, deregulation of the gas and electric power industries, stricter environmental emissions standards present an opportunity for alternative fuels and renewable energy producers and consumers to shape the domestic energy industry and capture market share for their products and services.

Since 2002, our Business Roundtables have been the premier venue to meet the alternative energy industry leaders and learn about business opportunities.  Our roundtables are AFREC's hallmark.  AFREC ‘s one-on-one quarterly Business Roundtables provide the opportunities,  where at one  time, one place and one event leading government officials, corporate representatives, regional  businesses,  funding agencies convene for collaboration.

Mission

Develop an open, vibrant market for innovative energy technologies, both stationary and transportation and to reduce our nation’s dependency on conventional imported fuels and promote a safer, cleaner environment.

Goals

To accelerate the commercialization of alternative fuels and renewable energies, to lessen our dependence on imported fuel and to contribute to our nation by providing innovation, initiatives, products and services regarding:  energy supply, homeland security, economic growth, investment opportunities, jobs and environmental protection.  AFREC endeavors to ensure a safer and cleaner future for America and our future generations.

Collaboration Efforts

"AFREC promotes collaborations with industry to overcome technical, economic, and social barriers to commercial utilization of alternative fuels.  Our members are referred by other members or are specifically selected for member invitation because of the products, services, initiatives or other innovations that they bring to the Council on behalf of the commercialization of alternative energy and preserving or creating profitability."
