Air Products

Opened PA’s 1st hydrogen filling station at Penn State University in 2006.  Signed two contracts with Nokia to supply nitrogen to its Beijing and Dongguan plants in China for use in the company’s electronics assembly and packaging process. Nokia has recently converted its printed circuit board assembly to a lead-free solder process, and nitrogen is needed in reflow soldering, a widely used method in surface mount technology (SMT) for packaging components on electronics printed circuit boards.  In 2009, Air Products' Proprietary Technology Joins World's First Full Demonstration of Oxyfuel CO2 Capture and Sequestration at Vattenfall.

Harry Halloran received University of Pittsburgh at Bradford's Presidential Medal of Distinction, the university's highest honor for ARG's gifts of property and funding for scholarships and energy-related projects to make college more affordable for their students and position the institution to better serve the workforce and knowledge needs of the bustling oil and gas industries.

Teamed up with Pennsylvania biodiesel companies to use byproducts for renewable energy fuel for processing services.

Clean Burn

Earned ENERGY STAR designation with coil tube boiler in 2008. Received the "2009 Save Energy Now" Energy Saver Award by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program.

Granted the PA Governor’s Waste Minimization Award in 2008

HERO BX (formerly Lake Erie Biofuels)

Makes history with completion of 1st biodiesel Transcontinental Jet Flight in the world one of the first 6 companies to demonstrate biodiesel quality commitment with BQ-9000 certification.  Oopened the 1st large scale biodiesel production facility in PA with a capacity to produce  45 million gallons of biodiesel annually, using multiple feedstocks. Ranked # 48 in the 50 Hottest Bioenergy companies by Biodiesel Digest.

Lukoil

Partnered with BioEnergy LLC to build a 108 million gallon ethanol project in 2007.

Mars Snackfood

Unveiled an 18-Acre Solar Garden in late 2009. The 28,000 panels can create up to 2 megawatts of electricity and provide one-fifth of the factory's energy needs.

NRG Energy

Filed the first permit to build a new nuclear reactor in 29 years.   NRG is also conducting a pilot test of blending biodiesel with Diesel fuel in a co-generation power plant.  Broke ground on a 200 megawatt peaking power plant in a joint venture with United Illuminating in 2009.  Acquired Blue Water Wind, one of the nation's leading offshore wind development businesses.

Turkey Hill/Kroger’s

Partnered with Lancaster County Solid Waste management Authority a and PPL Corporation to develop a Landfill gas green energy plant in 2006.  Received $348,000 from PEDA for a solar project in 2006.  Received $1.5 million grant to launch south-central PA's first commerical wind turbine project in 2009.

UGI

Purchased PPL propane gas business from PPL becoming PA’s largest Propane Company.

United Parcel Service (UPS)

Places world’s largest order of hybrid electric trucks and expands UK and German Green Fleets.  Became first small package carrier to offer its customers the ability fo offset the carbon dixide emissions generated by the transport of their packages within the U.S.

Worley & Obetz

Continues plans for Lancaster Biofuels Ethanol Plant in Lancaster, PA.  Expanded operations to create Renewable Energy services department specializing in solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, small wind power, geothermal and energy auditing services.  First retailer to open a full-scale stand-alone Renewable Energy Center in 2009.
