AFREC’s business is providing our members with timely industry information, public relations and marketing to position member's company for future alternative fuels renewable energies business.

Our Business Roundtables are held quarterly at the State Capital.
The Business Roundtables are issue-driven and promise to deliver pertinent information that can help grow your business by providing access to resources – people who are experts in the public and private sectors dealing with energy.  The topics deal with regulatory issues, legislative initiatives, energy technologies, products, services,  research and development from evolution to commercialization.

      Industry Alliances: Participation in AFREC events and support of like organizations give our members valuable opportunities to meet other business leaders who have like interests and create sales and marketing opportunities to collaborate on business ventures.

Build coalitions across economic sectors to support policies that encourage economic growth and opportunity and reduce burdensome government regulation. 

Help our members build support for their industry positions among many different companies and organizations. 

      Communications: AFREC conveys how alternative energy “creates value” for end users.  We provide a portal of information for media and others to supply information or connections to our members and journalists in their reporting about renewable energy. 

      Public Relations and Marketing:  Our strong public relations and marketing components provide additional marketing to communicate and showcase your company’s products, programs and initiatives. AFREC provides members industry-specific services and information to tap into different audiences and create new business relationships.

      Procurement: Identify and provide avenues to gain support for sourcing opportunities.  Provide Membership priority on Freedom Fuels information.       

The Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) is a requirement that a small but growing minimum percentage of the nation's power supply portfolio come from renewable sources like wind, solar, biomass and geothermal energy.

With RPS, many renewable energies will be able to compete in an increasingly competitive energy market focused on producing power at the lowest direct cost.

RPS is designed to deliver renewable energies that are most ready for the market. AFREC positions our members to benefit from RPS.

AFREC’s encourages private investors, portfolio managers and foundations to include Pennsylvania’s renewable energies in their power supply portfolios. This prudent investment leverages the value of domestic produced energies against foreign fuel price shocks and supply shortages.

RPS establishes a viable market for the long-term development of Pennsylvania’s renewable energy industries, creating jobs and providing domestic export opportunities.
